Online Filing - Personal Property Assessment
The Cass County Assessor's Office is working on implementing a way to e-File your Personal Property Assessment. If an ePIN number (online PIN number) is printed on your 2014 Personal Property Assessment Form that you receive in January, 2014, you will have the option of filing your personal property online, and will receive an insert instructing you how to file.
This new program is in the very beginning stages, and in order to make sure the website is working well and there are not any problems or errors, we have not provided ePIN (online PIN) numbers for every account in the county. The Assessor wants to make certain the website runs smoothly and the taxpayer is able to easily submit their assessment without error or issue before it is accessible to the public. Therefore, approximately 5,000 Personal & Business accounts located in Harrisonville, MO, (the county seat of Cass County), have ePIN (online PIN) numbers printed on their 2014 Assessment forms that will be mailed out on January 2nd, 2014. These will be the only accounts that will be able to file online at this time. If you do not have an ePIN (online PIN) number provided on your assessment form, you will not be able to file online.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but to better serve the taxpayer, the Assessor wants to use every precaution when implementing a new program of this nature to ensure accuracy, accessiblility, ease of use, and for the process to be as smooth and error-free as possible. When the Assessor's Office is certain the website is working properly, without any issues or concerns, the next year's online filing option will be opened up to every account in the county.
We appreciate your patience during this testing phase and thank you for the opportunity to serve you!
